GiveBackRx is a free-to-use platform that helps Americans save up to 80% on monthly prescription costs. On top of your ability to save, GiveBackRx donates a large percentage of its profits to charity. With its patented Charity Donation Option, users can select the charities and causes they want to support when they save by using GiveBackRx. Over 131 million Americans need prescriptions every month, and over 80% of Americans need at least one prescription per year.
Beginning January 2022, GiveBackRx expanded its relationship to bring 50,000 pharmacies in its network to support the national discount program. Popular pharmacies like CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid, Publix, Target, and others accept the GiveBackRx free discount coupons.
GiveBackRx was founded and patented by Dr. Kevin Carr in 2019. Having previously practiced medicine at Yale, he saw many patients unable to afford some of the medications he prescribed. After years of recurring issues, he identified the opportunity to make an exponential impact for both patients and non-profit industries.
“We’re bringing together some of the most impactful non-profits to join forces and bring prescription discounts to consumers. By combining their buying power and influence, we are driving down out-of-pocket prices across the nation. We know that helping 131 million Americans save money means we have to help each consumer individually on the medications most important to them. So they will find enormous savings across the board, sometimes making their out-of-pocket cost even cheaper than their insurance copayment would have been without GiveBackRx. In addition, we provide consumers confidentiality when purchasing medications such those used to treat anxiety, depression, and other confidential medications.”
- Dr. Kevin Carr, CEO and Founder
Dr. Carr and GiveBackRx are contributing to the global movement of companies supporting the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Sustainable Development Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". The SDGs were set up in 2015 and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030. This is exactly what the team at GiveBackRx is set out to do.
With the wide pool of charities on its platform, GiveBackRx enables the support of all 17 SDGs, ranging from gender equality and zero hunger to sustainable energy and climate action.
While industry competitors like GoodRx and RxSaver give profits to their private equity firms, GiveBackRx reverts a large portion of profits back to local community initiatives of the consumer’s choice. Pharmacists can also use charity-specific identifiers to support the charity of their choice as well.
“It’s more than customers saving on prescriptions, which is already a huge issue... Non-profits always need more ways to increase donations, so GiveBackRx is a perfect way to achieve this, for free. We don’t charge users, we don’t charge charities, every transaction directly contribute to charities. Everyone wins here.”
